    Who we are

Fantasy-Gaming Giveaway ("we", "us") is a community platform that lets PC gamers host and enter Steam game giveaways. This page explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have — with a focus on visitors from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

    Data we collect

    • Steam profile: when you sign in with Steam (OpenID), we read your public SteamID, persona name, avatar, owned games (including free-to-play, beta, and DLC) and wishlist.
    • Giveaway activity: giveaways you create, entries you submit, prizes you win, and whether you viewed or activated the prize.
    • Comments: comments you post on giveaway pages. You may post one comment per giveaway; deleting a comment also removes the associated activity record.
    • Messages to the developer: if you use the "Message developer" button on a giveaway (as creator or winner), we store the message text, the giveaway it relates to, your account ID, and timestamps so the developer team can respond and keep an audit trail. Messages are private to you and the developer team.
    • Messages between creators and winners: if a giveaway creator and the winner of that giveaway message each other on the site, we store the message text, the giveaway it relates to, the sender and recipient account IDs, timestamps and read status so the conversation can be delivered. These messages are private to the two people involved, but may be reviewed by the developer team when a report or abuse investigation requires it.
    • Region preference: a country code saved on your profile, used to show Steam prices in your local currency.
    • Public profile: your persona name, avatar, level/XP, achievements, giveaways created, entered and won are visible on your public profile page (/u/<id>) and may be indexed by search engines.
    • Games catalog activity: pages you visit in our games/news catalog (game detail, news article) are subject only to standard server logs; wishlist and library data are refreshed from Steam on demand to check giveaway eligibility.
    • XP and level: we track an experience (XP) score based on your activity (entries, comments, daily visits) and award level badges. Your XP and level are visible on your public profile.
    • Achievements: milestone counters such as giveaways created, joined, daily login streak, and comments made, used to display achievement badges on your profile.
    • Email address (optional): only if you choose to receive winner notifications or transactional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.
    • Steam group membership: when a giveaway requires it, we check whether your account is a member of the required Steam group.
    • Technical data: standard server and browser logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) used for security and abuse prevention.

    Account deletion & cooldown

You can permanently delete your account at any time from your dashboard. When you do:

    • Your profile, email address and personal data are removed from our active database.
    • Giveaways you created that are still live are cancelled and their entries deleted.
    • Giveaways that have already been drawn are preserved for transparency, with your profile replaced by an anonymous "SteamUser" placeholder so winners and history remain intact.
    • Your SteamID is added to a deletion list to prevent re-registration with the same Steam account for 12 months from the deletion date. After that period you are free to sign up again.

    Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and local storage entries, grouped into four categories you can control from the on-site cookie banner:

    • Essential: Steam OpenID sign-in, session, and CSRF protection. Always on — cannot be disabled.
    • Analytics: Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics. Loaded only after you grant Analytics consent.
    • Advertising: ad measurement and delivery cookies set by Google AdSense and by third-party ad partners (currently including ad slots served from relieved-understanding.com) loaded inside sandboxed iframes on pages such as Free Games and individual giveaway pages. Only loaded with your consent.
    • Personalization: tailors ads and content based on your activity, only with consent.

You can change your choices any time using the Cookie settings button at the bottom-left of every page.

For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

    Advertising & EU consent

We may display ads through Google AdSense and through third-party ad partners loaded inside sandboxed iframes (currently including ad slots served from relieved-understanding.com). These partners may set their own cookies and process technical data (such as IP address and user agent) for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Before any analytics, advertising or personalization cookies are set, we ask for your consent using our on-site cookie banner. You can accept all, decline all, or pick categories individually, and revisit your choice at any time from the Cookie settings button at the bottom-left of every page.

    US state privacy rights

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have specific rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what we collect, request deletion, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the use of advertising cookies by Google AdSense and its partners for personalised or cross-context behavioural advertising may qualify as a "sale" or "share" under some US state laws.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time using the button below. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser.

Open the Cookie settings button at the bottom-left of every page and turn off Advertising and Personalization to opt out.

California residents may also request a list of categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose in the past 12 months by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

    Legal basis (GDPR)

    • Contract: running your account and the giveaways you take part in.
    • Legitimate interest: security, abuse prevention, and product improvement.
    • Consent: personalised advertising, where applicable.

    Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Giveaway records (winners, draws, keys distributed) are kept indefinitely for transparency, but are anonymised when an account is deleted. Comments and XP events tied to a deleted account are also removed. Server and security logs are typically retained for up to 90 days.

    International data transfers

Our hosting, database and email providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

    Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

    Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Most rights can be exercised directly from your dashboard (account deletion, email unsubscribe). For anything else, contact us.

    Data sharing

We share data only with the providers needed to run the Service: Valve / Steam (authentication and library data), our hosting and database provider (Lovable Cloud), our transactional email provider (winner and account notifications), and Google (Tag Manager, Analytics and AdSense) for analytics and advertising, and third-party ad partners loaded inside sandboxed iframes on certain pages (currently including ad slots served from relieved-understanding.com). We do not sell personal data for money.

Social share buttons (Facebook, X) on giveaway pages use the platforms' standard share URLs. No personal data is transmitted to those platforms unless you actively click a share button.

To prevent automated bots from entering giveaways we use Google reCAPTCHA v3. When you click "Enter giveaway" your browser silently contacts Google to receive a risk score. Google may collect hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and send it for analysis. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. reCAPTCHA is considered strictly necessary for fraud prevention and is loaded on giveaway pages regardless of cookie consent.

    Moderation & winner reassignment

A small number of trusted developers/moderators can take administrative actions to keep the platform fair — for example, redrawing a random winner from existing entries, or replacing a winner with another eligible entrant when a prize is forfeited, when a winner is found to be in breach of our Terms, or when a giveaway ends with no valid winner. Every such action is recorded in an internal audit log (who acted, when, on which giveaway, the previous and new winner) for transparency and abuse prevention. These logs are not public.

    Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or to legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
